The Heartbreak

💔 Story Time: I used to be with this man that I absolutely loved and thought I would marry. We practically lived together until he got a job that paid more and started traveling. Suddenly, he was in the limelight, attracting attention, and I found out he was seeing other women. Two he seemed serious about.

I asked him to stop. He lied and said he had but then booked a flight to see one of them, claiming it was for “business.”

Taking Action

I did what any real gangsta would do… I drove him to the airport 🥲😂 I told him I knew where he was going and that if he got on the flight, I would leave him. He started getting his bags out of the car 😂 Shocked, I jumped out the car and asked, “Why was I not enough? How could you do this after I had loved you through your lowest? If you don’t want me, why do you keep me here?”

He looked at me, tears rolling down my face, and said:

“You’re convenient. It’s like this… my favorite restaurant is Olive Garden. But that’s 20 minutes away and more money. I actually get out the car to eat there. It’s an experience. The other women are like Olive Garden, my favorite food. You’re like McDonald’s. The nearest McDonald’s is within walking distance. Cheap. Easy. Not my favorite, but I can get it fast. Convenient.”

That stuck with me. I left him to get on that plane ✌🏽

The McDonald’s Realization

At first, I felt snubbed. Then I realized: what he called “convenient,” I call impactful.

Think about McDonald’s: convenient, yes but also one of the most powerful businesses in the world. It efficiently serves billions of people, owns $28 billion in real estate, and employs millions. It distributes millions of toys every year and makes a multi-billion dollar impact daily. Convenience isn’t a weakness. It’s a system that works.

What he also missed is that McDonald’s is recognized across the globe by its logo and donates millions each year to nearly 9 million children and their families worldwide. Its impact is so large, you’re never more than 115 miles from a McDonald’s in America. I won’t even compare Olive Garden because this isn’t about comparisons.

Recognize Your Value

Sometimes, the people who can’t see your value don’t look beneath the surface. What he missed about me is exactly what made me strong. My value was there the whole time.

💡 Lesson for Life and Money: Don’t settle. In business, finance, or relationships, convenience combined with a system can be more powerful than flashy but unstable options. Recognize your worth, invest in systems that work, and don’t settle for anyone or anything that undervalues you.

Moral of the Story: don’t let anybody play with or tell you YOUR value. Leave them people where they are and keep going… And don’t sleep on convenience. It might just be your superpower 🤫🔥
